PennyCup is our go-to local coffee spot. As a house divided—my husband being a coffee lover and myself an avid tea drinker—we both find what we're looking for here. I love their local chai from AppalaChai. The staff is always friendly and quick, just what you want on your afternoon caffeine run.

I got a butter bagel with extra butter. I like to take a moment and rotate my bagel while it’s nestled in tinfoil incubating the butter, gives it a chance to absorb the flavors throughout. I heard they’re expanding their hours at this location, which is great because I enjoy buttered bagels at all times and not exclusively as a breakfast meal.

Pennycup North is the unsung hero coffeeshop of Merrimon Ave, just a hop and a skip shy of Beaver Lake. It’s tucked in and easy to miss, but great for friendly catchups or afternoon networking. Alex always foams up my lattes real good! My only issue is I wish they were open a little bit past 3!! Definitely making this my go-to for coffeeshops in North Merrimon.

The food and coffee is amazing. The absolute best thing though is the service. Every time I’m here I’m treated like a friend rather than just a customer. It’s easy to feel comfortable here, the atmosphere and staff have an amazing energy. They go out of their way to engage with my 5 year old who absolutely loves the staff and the hot chocolate.

Small, quaint coffee shop on merrimon Avenue. Ordered the honey lavender iced latte and a avocado bagel. Plenty of seating to work on your laptop or grab a bite to eat with a friend.

One of my favorite coffee places in town!!! I’ve been coming here for years... Best lattes ever, “The Northside” is my go-to with lavender and honey with oat milk and it’s a dream. SO DELISH! I’m also a huge fan of their bagels with Lox and I like adding cucumber. I’ll be a regular as long as they're there! Definitely check this place out :)

I don't often provide a 5 star review, but pennycup more than deserves it. More often than not, I'm somebody that gets a fruity drink or a tea over a coffee, but the YMI kills it! It's so good that I'm actually stopping by for coffee! The overall space itself is arguably small, but cute! Staff have been friendly and very quick each time I've gone!
